EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS

EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS

We produce around 30 lakhs graduates every year, twice of US and 3 times of UK. Lakhs of students come out of Engineering College and Arts  & Science Colleges. They queue up for a job. But they don't know that 70 % of them do not have employability skills.

"The challenger before the industy does not lie in the supply of talent but rather that of employability skills" - Azim Premji of Wipro

One survey says less than 10 % MBA graduates are employable. Though we have about 3300 business schools in India, the effective education is missing. Our Prime Minister Mr.Manmohan Singh once said, "Today availability of skills is possibly the single most important constraint to rapid industrial growth".

Due to these factors, many companies want to recruit only experienced hands. They hesitate to recruit freshers.

Students have to accept a fact that they are entering a new world when they seek job. They have to
take responsibility for their positions. All along they enjoyed responsibility free life in college campus.

Perceptions have to be changed: mindset has to be changed. If students are prepared for it, then they have a wonderful world. Difference between the skills the students possess now and the coporate expect is employability skill.

What Corporate expect from freshers ?
